Excellent info re open deck blocks

There have been some problems with a certain makers 2.3 turbo motors with the cylinder sleeves moving and causing blown or leaking head gaskets due to the open deck design that allows the top of the liners to move and compromise the head gasket seal.

Darton have a remedy for all/most /some open deck motors and the video is very informative.

Not a cheap exercise BUT essential for a hi power application and longevity / reliability IMO

I was given a quick and thorough intro in this topic when my engine needed to get repaired and I moved from semi to closed
My mechanic was very good, and patient, at explaining the differences and why I might as well change up since it was being replaced anyway
