I couldn't find any thread in this forum to post this one.

I have a Evo3 1.5L 2000 asian model.. Mine is a a non-turbo and planning to turbo.. Can anyone tell me how do we bring down the compression ratio (needed before planting the turbo unit) of the engine? Is it configurable through ECU mapping or have to manually fix the engine?

All know-hows tips would greatly appreciated.

You can rebore the engine and fit lower compression pistons. A thicker gasket is a bit of a bodge but that will reduce the compression ratio a little more.

If you are worried about detonation then you could investigate water injection and using a high octane fuel.

You have a big project on your hands and if I were to give sensible advice it would have to be "why not swap the engine for a turbo unit as the work involved is less and you will have a more reliable end setup."
