Just posting up a quick plug for the guys at RG Motorsport, they do a stunning job and can cater for all of your EVO tuning requirements and servicing needs. Pop on to their site and see what they are about!

(RG Motorsport are TorqueCars Approved - they do a great job!)

It is quite a bit of work, as you have a 2wd and the Evo is 4WD and dependent on some amazing electronics. You would need a stronger gearbox than your current one. IMHO it would be too expensive to get a garage to do this but if you are a competant mechanic it is worth investigating.

What about an FTO 2.0 MIVEC engine? This might be a little easier.

ohhh yh how can i forget EVOs r 4WD....

I think i read somewhere on this site i can do a engine swap with an 'early EVO'.

My car is a front wheel drive manual, are there only specific cars with front wheel drive
i can do an engine swap or just with my own manufacturer models (mitsubishi) ??

thaanks

You can run the engine through a 2WD gearbox but you will have major traction problems.

Here is the statement you should read carefully "You can fit any engine to any car but the question is whether it is viable and cost effective to do so!"

It is usually easier to stay within manufacturers but many don't. I've seen some Jap engines in Golfs for example. Unless you really know your stuff then I would stick with Mitsubishi engines and check that engine mounts are avaiable for your car.

Thought ild Fire this one in.... Rich @ RG Mapped my IX a few months back "Stage 1" and done a fantastic Job, Highly recommended from me aswell :)
