Hey guys,

I have an evo4, which i recently had de-restricted... but just my luck, the rubber seal on my dipstick was worn and the dipstick popped out while test driving... and now there is back pressure... :sad2:, so ive decided to rebuild my baby... with bigger, better parts....

i just wanted some tips on what is the best way of doing this...

i was thinking (in this order);

1. bore block to 86mm
2. purchase pistons (which ones are good?)
3. grind and polish or just polish crank with ACL racing bearings.. (main and big ends)
4. very lighly skim head, full head gasket set
5. stainless steel manifolds (exhaust and turbo)
6. downpipe with extension
7. bigger injectors?
8. bigger turbo?
9. remap ecu
10. get back on the road with a monster....

any suggestions, would be much appreciated....

thanks in advance

Mej.

Balance the engine, I've also read on here about Cryogenic engine treatments that make the engine much stronger and tougher.

Get the head properly flowed and ported by a pro with a flow bench.

Bigger turbo or get a twin turbo setup if you are worried about lag. The FQ400 is a bit of a lag monster so bear this in mind.

i think ill stick with one turbo (for now.... :p) all the crank work (grinding and polishing) will be done a specialist...
