1. They have wings, why not fly in the first place.
2. They wait until T minus zero to commence crossing.
3. Having nearly made it halfway across unscathed the stupid buggers stop and deliberate, then turn around having made the decision that it's quicker to go back to the side of the road from which the whole exercise started.
