Engine number

I think it's normally on the front of the block some where buddy. Does it not tell you on your log book?
It is not uncommon for the number to be covered in grime. Clean the engine bay. Check the right of the block, just below the fuel pressure regulator (I think) for a flat space which will generally house the engine number.
