ecu remap and dpf

Hello, I have an Octavia 1.9TD1 and am looking to have it remapped to give more torque at lower revs. I read somewhere that it cause the diesel particle filter getting clogged up fast. Does that mean I need to have the DPF removed first and something else put in place instead before the remap. Will such a procedure have any effect on passing the MOT emmissions test. Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to TC forum. Might answer your question, also look at the article link further down the thread. Far as I know my 2.0 TDI 170DPF will be remapped with DPF still there and will be around 205hp after that. That info is from a VW garage that only tune VAG engines.
