If you were to store a car for a couple of years would it still be safe to use the fuel in the tank or would you need to drain the tank?

Does diesel go off over time? What could you do to reduce the risks (if there are any)?

I had a diesel Mondeo. That was stood for 2 an a half years outside.
Until we sold it to a banger racer.
Chucked a battery on and it fired straight up. He even drove it onto his flatbed lorry, after pumping the tires up.

IF you are going to store any car I would suggest that you fill the tank to the brim so that there is no air space to get water condensation that can lead to rust forming. For a petrol car I would add a fuel stabiliser as well.
