I'm needing to get a clutch done so I have an option of ditching the DMF (Dual mass flywheel) for a solid (lighter) one.

What do you see as the pros and cons of this? Will the engine seem much more harsh without the DMF? Will extra wear be transferred elsewhere like the transmission due to the lack of the cushioning effect of the DMF.

Will performance be much different (I'm not going stupidly light on the flywheel, just wanted it to be a bit more free revving.)

pros - less vibrations
cons a hell of a lot more.

there are alot of SMF conversions avalible for our gearboxes waynne including the clutch and SMF for less than the DMF alone.
alot of taxi drivers especially seem to be having the smf fitted for cost and finding they lasting alot longer than the OEM DMF

depends on your driving should last roughly the same time as the clutch but have heard of some going at less than 60k others starting to go with the clutch.
problem is that when it does start to go it takes the clutch with it
