well my dmf (duel mass fly wheel) bit the dust and am now in the process of getting it rpaired. what an expensive piece of kit to have done :amazed::amazed:

one garage quoted me £950. i nearly curled up and died. lmao
most of the other garages quoted me £700 ish.

But true to form, its not what u know it who and a mate of a mate will supply and fit it for £550.

I would of had a go myself but;
1st. Ive never changed a clutch in my life.
2nd. i know these are supposed to be tricky
3rd. I need it done by Friday morning so i can go up and have a look at BBJ's evo.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

is this for the mondeo ?
would have suggested you look at single mass flywheels but diesels wont like them. well more the gearbox wont like them.
£1000 is about right for the flywheel and clutch they aint cheap, i looked into mines - well for the bora but it uses near ebnough the same parts - and it was a grand for parts alone.

normal way is you will hear a clunking sound when you switch the engine off.
generally when it goes it will take out the clutch in no time as well hense why you need to change both

Don't fit a solid flywheel. You'll batter the whole drivetrain downstream and upstream. Crankshafts have been destroyed by this practice. You need the isolation that the DMF offers.

Is it fixed? Have just seen your thread now! You have untill about 2ish before my baby goes up on the rollers tomorrwo I think. Im going down there about half 9, they will have to fit the cams, then map. So I recon that will take a good 4/5 hours. Then the dyno run should be about 1PM/2PM I am thinking.

At risk of hijacking the thread but I'm going to ask: Do you have to use a specialist dyno for full time AWD?

Yeah, its a full 4 rollers with a fan at the front I think. The company I am using have just had it fitted (last year I think) and are getting some great results. :D
