Hi, I did a diff ratio check on my 1973 jaguar. I only get 1and a half turns of my tailshaft to one turn of the wheel. Can this be right???
the vehicle has a 350 chev and 400 auto conversion done.

I'm guessing were talking crankshaft to wheels here, and not left to right across the axles.

That sounds a little low to me, it's not sporty by any means but ok for a road car and good for a very high top speed, but not acceleration. A lot depends on the power output and gearing of your engine and final wheel size.

For a 350 Chev block even with a mild tune I'd expect something nearer 2.8:1 upto 3.3:1 would work better. What is the indicated speed in top gear at 3000rpm?

There are calculators online that can help you find the appropriate ratios for your application.
