Headlines are interesting at the moment, as is often the way with the press they find a bandwagon to jump on and go with it, I have yet to see proper balanced reporting of this issue.
Due to the demonisation of diesel in the uk sales of diesel cars are down.
However the headline is picking up on the fact that petrol cars emit more Co2 than diesel cars so we will see an increase of Co2.
They seem to be glossing over the fact that there will be a reduction in harmful particulates from diesels.
Should diesels be banned? Should electric cars become compulsory? What about hybrids, should all cars have a hybrid power option?
The other thing is that car sales in the UK in 2017 were still in the top 3 highest sales in the last 10 years, so why are we getting headlines about a slump in new car sales? Is this a case of there not actually being any news so it's being invented?
