Diesel oil conditioner

What are your thoughts on diesel oil conditioners?

The only one i'd be tempted to use is this one by BG...

Would a modern oil contain all of these essential additives anyway?

Your car, as does mine, requires the use of oils which meet VW 507.00 specification. This should do everything necessary to ensure proper operation. Personally I'd not go near an oil additive for any car, though I do have a different view with fuel additives.

TBH I just change mine every 10k with a good fully synth. As it's not a performance car or driven to extremes this is ok IMO.

When I had cars like my 182 that got driven harder I used to change the oil twice as often as the specified intervals, so every 5 or 6k.

I've used full synthetic oils for nearly twenty years. Even in cars specified for semi-synthetic.

VW's PD engines are very oil critical - the camshaft gets a bashing from the PD injectors themselves. Never deviate from spec with these engines.
