diesel chip

i wouldnt trust anything involving the altering the ecus settings of ebay mate. it says it
Does Not Interfere With Standard ECU Settings
it must do otherwise its not going to do anything

this at least looks like a plug in box rather then a "tuning box" (resistor in a lot of siicone) with a black cover.
id say play it safe and get a proper remap done

Remap - without a doubt the safest option. I've got my 2.2 HDi running at 190bhp (standard is 136). It's been like this since 2006 and has covered 109,000 miles now (remap was done at 50,000).

tuning boxes are a bodge. You will have emissions problems with your Honda if you fit one.

how much will a proper remap cost coz ive got limited funds for stuff like this.so the general opinion is no on the ecu box then

remaps can cost up to around £500 depending if you want a generic one or a custom one. allways got to reputable company as well
try celtic tuning they should offer youu a discount when you mention your a member of torquecars

http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/Car T...onda-accord-ecu-remap-chip-engine-tuning.html

your looking at 192bhp and 320ftlb torque from them

celtic tuning are the same ones who have done HDI's

Celtic will do a sterling job for about £300. They can 'stretch' tune as well. I know this is a term more commonly used in the tuning of concert grand pianos but it's a phrase that suits well.

Your 2.2 iCTDi will probably go to well over 200bhp with some uprated cooling.

Even with Celtic's 192 you will DEFINITELY feel the 320lbft they're suggesting.

It's torque that flings your car down the road, not bhp. If you consider how hard a Jag XK8 pulls with its 320lbft then that's exactly what you'll get in your Accord. OK, it won't rev so high therefore you won't get 300bhp but the driving feel is much the same.

You'll certainly stay with just about any modern 3.0 petrol and outrun quite a few as well.

nice one , a quick question though
should i get it remapped with the induction kit on or off/does it make a difference?

it depends on whether your going for a custom map ( i think this is what HDI means by stretch ) in which case it will take into account the extra flow that the induction kit gives. but you might only give a little more

So I am new to this chip and remap stuff. I have a 2007 r320 cdi mercedes. how do I go about a remap?

Hi Denver814 and welcome to TorqueCars its great to have you along.

There are quite a few specialists out there offering another 45 bhp or so do a search for remap r320 and you'll see what I mean. Where are you based?

Make sure that you get a full custom remap, not just an overwrite of your ecu with a generic one. It's in this way that a good tuner can really make what is a excellent engine already really come to life.

THe crucial part of a remap is ironing out all the peaks and troughs before getting stuck into overboost and fuelling changes. It's this levelling out of things that makes the custom remap drive so serenely. The extra torque is almost secondary.
