Ok so saw the one for dog smells on here but dead sheep are something worse. My dads friends has a little Daihatsu thing that is great for driving round the fields and doing farmer type jobs. have had a couple of dead sheep in the back and the juices have seeped into the seems of the jeep. Has been power washed a number of times to clean it up but the smell is persistent, it just wont go away. The floor has been scrubbed with detergent etc... but the damn thing is stiil present.
Any ideas???

Because I watch CSI & therefore must be an expert on such matters, I believe the smell is the body's fats breaking down & I think the only thing that can be done for the Diaihatsu is to pull the interior out & burn it!

I've had to work down wind of a few dead animals on the railway & the smell is in describable! Also had to pull a dead sheep of the line once & the leg fell off, I lost my breakfast that day!!!

round here you can still smell the dead cattle and sheep from the foot and mouth when it rains and then gets hot. bodys were dumped and burned not a mile from here now that must have been 7 years or so ago.

dead rats also give off a hell of a smell

Well hung aged lamb or mutton is a delight to behold. I suspect, however, that the conditions inside the Daihatsu are probably not ideal for such a purpose :-(

A full interior valet where the whole lot is deep cleaned with specialist detergents and then vacuumed dry will probably solve the problem. The problem with animal fats is their relatively high melting point.

Baking soda on the affected areas and scrub as much as possible, then leave white vinegar inside the car in bowls over night or over 2 days if possible the remove and it should have neutriliased even the most invasive smell.

plus parts of the car lol ?

sodium hypochloride = industrial bleach! excellent for cleaning metals and non-coloured plastics, as the op was carrying dead sheep i doubt he`s got carpet in the back, so will work fine.
