De-chroming outside window scrapers.

I am trying to de-chrome my beetle. I'd like to replace the chrome trimmed outside window scrapers with ones that have no chrome trim attached. Does anyone know of a window scraper that can be used in place of the original one?

The eaiest thing would be to remove the original ones and then spray paint them with lots of very fine layers of paint to give a good strong finish.
