Hi all,

I am thinking of removing all of the catalytic converters in my exhaust system. I was told that this would decrease the fuel consumption quite a bit. Is this true?

My other questions is:

If I simply cut the cats out and replace with a piece of straigh pipe, will the sensors pick this up? And if it picks it up, will the car still run fine?

Thanks

Not too sure about the 1st question so I shall not attempt to answer it.

The 2nd question however, I had this done a couple of years ago on my car.
The o2 sensors x2 one before and one after the CAT - did not like it at all when their friend the cat went missing and was replaced by a straight bit of pipe.
It kept bring up the "check engine light" If you are thinking about having the vehicle remapped, then you can have the o2 sensor omitted from the software as I did by any competent tuner.
