custom bodykits?

what does 'custom bodykit' actually mean? because you see so many tech spec's of tuned cars that say 'custom bodykit' but does it mean that they actually got one created for them or that they just slightly modified a bodykit that they bought?
 
to me, both- as long as you cant just walk into a shop and pick one up then its customised. it could be something as small as fitting different vents to bumper. fitting some different in the vents, shark teeth.
 
I think the term is over used to show it is not the standard kit that came with the car.

It should really mean that it is a one off and there is not another like it in existance.
