This Corsa has a marvellous sparkly paint effect. After the first main colour coat the paint is coated with tiny holographic chips. ive had two cars painted with metal flake one was a black base coat with a blue flake made the car look blue till close and when sunny looked excelent and the second car was a dark red base with light red glitter
and yes you do have to have loads of coats of laqure up to 5 other wise u get a very rough finish and if you try and flat and polish it back without enough laqure it takes the colour out of the flake and u end up with silver patchs

Heres a question does the flake go onto the base coat whilst wet or is it applied withing the first laquer clear coat?

goes on with the first coat of clear some people put a marble in the spray gun so with the movement of the gun and marble it keeps the glitter moving so it doesnt clog the gun
