Corsa 1.2 engine stall when cold

Any ideas? My brother has a Corsa 1.2. The engine does not seem to idle enough when it is cold and it stalls. The engine management light is on.

Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

what age? 03-05 i would advise pulling off the rocker cover and check the cams between 3 and 4. the holders may have came slack.

is it cable or electronic throttle ?

Yeah, i have exactly the same thing!

Its a 2001 and the engine management light is on and occasionally it stalls right after I start it when cold. If you give it a rev before it falls back to idle speed it doesn't happen.

I put it into the garage and the guy came back to me and said that it was coming back as a Heating fault on the laptop... it doesn't affect the running of the car and was gonna cost about 150 just for an electrician to have a look at it so I told him that I'd pass on the garuntee that it was purely an electrical fault and not a mechanical one.
