Have just seen this site and I'm mighty glad to learn about you.
I 'm actually from Manila , hoping distance is not a problem.
just like many enthusiasts , i prefer this type of Corolla for its performance and economy.
Just recently , however, the car wouldn't start despite initial cranking. Have checked fuel and pump, battery, distributor and wire harness but it just wouldn't work.
Been advised by our local car shop that the ECU is not matched. Current
ECU is 89661-12845 though the original is 89661-12800.
Did some repair on the old one and both units were actually working for months before this experience. Now, i don't know what to do as i cannot believe the car shops' analysis....
perhaps you could advise?
