How would you rank the following as a driver?

    Cornering
    Going fast
    Accelerating

For me I get the most joy from the push you back in your seat acceleration. Going fast doesn't do much for me.

Cornering is also good fun - when you've set the cars balance perfectly and the back is running slightly wide.

So what are you preferences and likes?

On track and sprint days it is braking as late as I dare and clipping the apex as you power out with the rear breaking traction and stepping out and catching it just right with a roll of the wrists and winding it off at the right moment to bring it back in line without fishtailing.|B

But now I have switched camps over to FWD I may need to get a bit of lift off oversteer and or add a rear bar to get the same result and back on the power to drag the bum back straight:)

When I rally my 285bhp 0-60 in 4 seconds on tarmac mk2 Escort the rear oversteer that is controlled going round corners is what makes me grin! Especially if high speeds are involved! So really have 2 with this, first one getting pushed into the seat all the way to it's top speed of only just over 100mph and second one I've already mentioned! Fun, fun, fun!

I have long been a fan of Eskies and long admired the total commitment ,talent and obvious skills of Simon McKinlay RIP.

Rally driving is one of the most dangerous motorsports. Safety is paramount importance knowing one day your going to crash! The safety of a well engineered roll cage can only help in certain situations. I've lost a friend that had went into some tree's at about 40mph missing them all. But a thick branch had entered through front screen piercing him and killing him. Navigator didn't even get a bruise! Unfortunate things can happen in rallying that are outside our control!

You might like this video with our Aussie rally champ vs Ari Vatanen both in Mk 2 Escorts.
Love the 3 wheeling of Greg Carr at app 2.10 minutes.
