If you have the slightly rough bobbly plastic bumpers is it possible to colour code them? I think it would look nice having my bumpers and mirrors matching the bodywork.

A mate of mine said that you need smooth bumpers for it to look right, but the Vauxhall bumpers are slightly textured.

yes it can be done, rather than use normal primer you use filler primer ( normally yellow in colour )
basically use plastic adhesive - if your not using plastic filler primer
and build up the filler primer - this stuff does need to be put on thiner and left to dry properly.
after a good couple of coats - leave it to harden properly, approx 24 hours
start rubbing down with wet and dry paper
wash and dry
normal primer - unless the filler was in the correct colour
paint
lacquer
polish
stand back and admire

i done the valances on the bora and they were rough. painted them silver but didnt like the textured look so smoothed them off

yeah thats it really. think its something like 20mins between primer coats rather than 10mins
plus it needs a day to full cure before it can be sanded back.
also the filler contracts as it drys so can crack as it dries if its too thick

i would be to take the bumper off the car so it can sit in your garage or house. so then if it rains or is windy over night it doesnt get wrecked. and also it wont be as cold as sitting outside on the car.. and the paint and primer may dry quicker and better
