Can you think of any classic cars that were ahead of their time?

I thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss on here also, so what classic cars do you think were ahead of their time and why?

But seriously, the Impreza was (is) a powerful car with steady AWD, great handling and TURBO! Before it there weren't many 4 wheel drive cars that maintained a low centre of gravity.

The Impreza would count in my book also.

The Golf GTi Mk1 was a trend setter, as was the RS200 - one of my all time favourites, although it never really made it as a production car with a limited Homologation run.

Anyone else remember the Diahatsu Charade GTTi - 1.0 engine but was extremely quick off the mark.

Very nice cars indeed, I really like those. I almost bought a 305 GTi at one point but the garage wanted far too much money for it.

Mitsubishi 3000GT, Porsche 959, Tucker Torpedo.
These cars come to my mind first when mentione ahead of time lol
