How would you choose a good body repair shop? Would you avoid the small one man band operations and still to large flashy repair specialists?

Does it depend on the work you want doing?

Have you used a bodyshop and were you pleased with the end result?

Are repairs every truly invisible?

repairs are never invisible, one man operations are nearly always your best bet.

you have been going to the wrong people then the guy next door in the body shop is the best around i have learnt a lot from him can even now spot if a colour is out even by one shade and sometimes he cant do that
and all his repairs are invisible you would never see that it has been damaged if he is not happy with it he will do the job all over untill he is happy

witch is why he gets the cars that he does and the people that he does

i would never take my motor anywere else

and the one man bands are normaly better then the big workshops

Agree with Luton on this. It's all down to the person doing the job. My dad used to do car repairs for family and such and you would never have known that some of the things had even been done. Depends how much the person enjoys doing it IMO. If you don't like your job you'll prob not be bothered that much about attention to detail whereas if you really do like your job then you would give it your all and be proud of all the work you do.
Thats why the 1 man band places are the best bet.
