In theory it may be possible to mount a wireless attack and take over a cars controls but I think the real risk is a long way off.

I just hope manufacturers take this issue seriously before the OBD port goes wireless and I'm sure it will at some point.
 
You can get OBDII to Bluetooth adapters on the open market. Whether these are transparent enough to allow all OBDII data I don't know. But if the Bluetooth adapter is not accepting new incoming connections I can't see how this is a problem.
 
Yeah i use the bluetooth obd2 interface for a quick scan if i dont have the laptop handy. it gives all the same details just slower than direct cable.

dont think well have to worry about it for a while anyway
