I'm not completely up to speed on the technical side of things, and wondered if anyone could quickly talk me through what lb/ft torque is????

Any input appreciated.

Thanks.

I wanted to know a bit more than that, for example is it the torque of the wheel rotating or the engine which is measured? or is it both the same?

I still don't fully understand it, even though I have a decent knowledge of maths and physics.

What I was geting as is its not a ratio as it's often written. lb/ft.

it can be foot pounds or pounds feet. Perhaps even pound foots ?-? :)

Sid, can you explain the following then as the website i quoted above states: "TORQUE is defined as a FORCE around a given point, applied at a RADIUS from that point. Note that the unit of TORQUE is one pound-foot (often misstated), while the unit of WORK is one foot-pound." - lbft and ftlb are different things?

I have absolutely no idea on this whatsoever and would like to be clear, thanks,
