Which brake pads have you fitted and how do you rate them.

Keep the replies honest and objective.

1) Which make of pad and to which car were they fitted.
2) Did it improve the braking
3) Best and worst points about these pads.
4) Are the other brake components standard or uprated?
5) Would you recommend this to others?

1) Green stuff pads (Original formulation) to my Rover 220 Gti
2) They were better than the standard pads but still not brilliant
3) They need a bit of warmth before they bite. Low brake dust was a big plus and they lasted a long time.
4) Standard disks, braided hoses and sythetic brake fluid.
5) Not really there are better high friction pads out there. The only time I would recommend these is if you were after a low brake dust solution.

1) Black Diamond Predator pads / BMW 735i
2) yes major difference
3) Best point, hard wearing, minimal dust...Bad points, none.
4) Black Diamond drilled discs and standard Brembo 4 pot calipers
5) Most definitely

standard pagid pads
2) Did it improve the braking
only very slightly
3) Best and worst points about these pads.
long lasting, good pedal feel but dont seem to stop the car that well middle pedal very hard and ABS could struggle to activate in the dry
4) Are the other brake components standard or uprated?
Nope
5) Would you recommend this to others?
Only for standard replacement - just not from dealers

.

edited above. pads on the civic were cheap ferodo ones that were something like £15 a shot. worked well but very quick wear on them 9-10k that was it near enough on the metal

Tried EBC Green Stuff in the Nissan in 2003. Good bite once warm.

EBC in 406 - load of rubbish. OEM ATE pads far better and cheaper.

Eicher pads - cheap and horrible. I removed these along with Eicher discs after a month and returned for full refund.

i have been running std rotors , green stuff pads , braided hoses and dot 5 fluid . the biggest gain was ducting air flow to the rotors, no brake fade and consistant feel under foot.
