hi my name is dan im about to buy a 106 XSI. it needs some TLC but i am training to become a mechanic so i will be fixing it.
it needs a new back box, heat shield over the back box, the horn doesnt work, o/s window has come of runners and needs new number plates a part from that she is a rude little car.

i have noticed my car is usein a lot of petrol, somewere from the engine and to the back box but i have run my hand over the whole exhaust and i can find no holes but im losin alot of power i have no idea wot happern.
any ideas???

OR are you just driving it with some enthusiasm at the moment?

Right foot can make a massive difference to fuel economy in even the best set up car.

DOn't go looking for faults too readily

In that case don't buy it. If the owner is so neglectful to let that continue then who knows what other things have been left to chance?

It will quite possibly have destroyed the O2 sensor and cat as well.
