Books for learning?

What is the best book/books for learning about cars. Mechanincs, wiring, tuning. Pretty much how a car works, how to fix a car etc. Not really looking for car history unless its relevant. Thanks

Haynes.

Go on a site called how stuff works it will learn you how an engine works and once you understand it does make diagnosing problems easier by using the process of elimination.
Then haynes manuals are good but manufacturers tech manuals are better you can usually find these on the web somewhere

Bentley manuals published in The USA are meant to be superb
