Best way to get into the motor trade?

I've always enjoyed cars and everything about them and have done a few weeks work experience through school at a mercedes dealership in the aftersales department and loved it. I'm 17 still young and want to know what would be my best way to get into the motor trade. I'm not entirely sure what i want to do in terms of job role yet but hopefully if i get a job at a local garage or dealership it will enable me to figure what it like to pursue as a career.
