best modifications to a e90 325i

I am new to the board and want to know about the best modifications for the money, and best order, if you were starting from scratch. I still need an everyday car.
 
was thinking about a CAI by AFE, eventually exhaust, but it was going ot be kinda bits and pieces. I am purely a beginner tuner, and just want advice on the biggest bang for buck without destoying the "everyday" use of the car. Maybe 1500 for now.
 
You need a cold air induction kit. A manifold back exhaust including a sports cat. You could chuck some cams in there too if you wanted. But after all that get a custom ecu to tie in all the mods. That should give you a tidy gain.
