Best method for a power start?

Re: power start?

Auto or Manual gearbox ?

manual is more or less give it revs ad when you go lift the clutch
theres a few small varations on how people do it but thats the basics

Re: power start?

Auto's are different. They apply the front brake, load up the TorqueConverter and they fire away.

Wheel spin at the start is a killer so you need to hold revs at your power band and increase revs as the tyres grip.

Re: power start?

im automatic, i no that goiogn from neutrul buggers gearbox
but yeh i still dont get the start
so u apply handbrake and hold throttle
and then release handbrake>?

Re: power start?

is it FWD or RWD ? if rear wheel drive then its the brake pedal to hold as it puts most bias on the front.
FWD not so sure

Re: power start?

Automatic - left foot fully pressed on brake pedal - Right foot fully dperessed on accelerator.
Release left foot and off you go :)

Manual - switch off ESP etc. pile on about 4000rpm = petrol or diesel and take left foot of clutch whilst flooring the accelerator. It'll give the tyres a bashing but you'll get off the line quickly.
