Hi all,
First time new guy here. I joined to exploit the wealth of knowledge of the members here. I am looking to buy and build up, a little or alot, a Mercedes C Class and dont really know alot about them. I am in Washington State and regularly see older C Classes for sale for a decent price. Some where around the model years 2007 and newer. What are the most common platforms to start with? Id like to pit together a bad ass commuter. Not looking for 500 hp or anything more crazy, but a fun daily that still scares the wife. Any and all input welcome!

Thanks,
Gill

The more power you start with the easier it is to modify and upgrade. The compressor engines are pretty good solid options. Even the diesels are good options if you can get them over there but I know diesel never really took off in the USA.
