Audi A4 TDi

Hi Chaps,

I am in the market for an A4 TDi - the plan is to get a remap of the ecu and a few low profile mods and have myself a quick but reasonably sensible ride.

All you Audi experts out there, maybe you could advise me on the best model/ year etc. The 2.5 tdi quattro is obviously appealing but does this offer enough improvement over the 1.9/2.0 tdi to merit the extra costs?

Unfortunately my considerable fortune ( ) doesn't stretch to a new or even nearly new model - doh!

The 2.5 TDI can be boosted to to over 191 BHP and the torque to over 362 NM from its standard 150 BHP and torque of 310 NM !!

Here are the before and after figures for a Remap in BHP not NM
(star performance figures quoted).
1.9TDI 90 115
1.9TDI 110 140
1.9TDI PD 115 140
1.9TDI PD 100 140
1.9TDI PD 130 175 :shock: Big increase here
2.5TDI V6 150 185
2.5TDI V6 180 200 8) This is worth considering.
2.0TDI PD 140 180
3.0TDI V6 204 250
3.0TDI V6 233 275 :twisted:

3.0TDI V6 is the best but I guiess this is a newer model.

what is the difference from the 1.9tdi 110 to the 1.9tdi pd 130. whats the pd stand for

the PD stands for Pumpe Duse. its VWs go at common rail injection.

the differences between the 110 and 130 are different turbo. fuel pump, injector pump ( not in the non PD engines) injectors. theres also a 1.9 pd 150 engine but audi didnt use it, used in the golf GT TDI and seat leons. basically its likethe 150 and 180 petrol engine, just a more agressive map

by far, good strong engine, got the same engine in vrs, up to 170bhp but i like torque, so i re-mapped it to about 480nm

How the heck did you get 480Nm from it? I am very impressed

I've got about 420 from a remapped Peugeot 2.2 HDi. Even in a car of that weight it shoves it about very nicely. I don't honestly think the clutch would stand much more.

I can imagine that's quite a handful on a greasy road. Fun tho

yh, it's surprisingly predictable tho, jabba sport remaped to 480nm, and yh upgraded helix clutch:toung:
