I am in the middle of trading my corsa c for a seat arosa 1.7sdi but i am not happy with the 0 - 60 time on it, how would you go about putting forced induction on it? and what turbo would you use ???

Greetings and Welcome to TorqueCars My Friend! :)

I believe that to turbocharge a N/A engine would involve many £££££'s
I am sure that somebody on here will have an idea as to the best way forward for your model car.

cheers man, the 0 - 60 is like 16 seconds ............. thats mobility scooter speed if not al just chip it and dabble bout with a new throttle body =]

16 seconds  hardly face distorting speed  If more power can be squeezed from it then this is the best place to find out. Good luck

Hi and Welcome.

If the 0-60 time is 16 seconds, spending many ££££ time and effort would not bring the time down to below 8. You would be looking at a low pressure turbo, and even after adding this you would still be looking at 10-12 seconds. My first car was a 1.8 TD escort. She was about as fast as a sloth, and when the turbo went, she wasn't much slower. Id maybe think about a different vehicle if your after speed. If not, just enjoy your new car, and dont worry about the speed!

Take it from someone who has went up the ayr shore in a clapped out Nova 5 before, your not going to turn heads driving a seat arosa diesel and your not going to be too chuffed with how quick it goes either!

Out of curiosity why were you looking at a seat arosa anyway if the intention was to get a quick car? If it's for cheaper insurance then you could still look to the realms of a 1.9 or even a 2.0 TDI that shouldn't put you too far out of place for your pound? You may just have to think a little latteraly about what you drive take for insance a VW Jetta which I think they have a PD170 engine although I'm not entirely sure. This is good for about 9 seconds standard and as it is less known than say my Leon for instance/ It for this reason that it shouldn't bite you as much for the insurance and your still getting a quick car with potential for more and relatively cheap insurance and relatively cheap to buy? If you have a look on auto trader there are about 19 on sale for less than £7k within 40 miles of Killie so not to far to go to find one either bud!

Worth looking at mate?
