With many car manufacturers dropping v8's and other large V6 engines we should ask do these engines have a place in the modern motoring world?

When you can get the same power from a turbocharged 2.0 litre engine and as it's lighter it will out perform a V8, and gives much better fuel economy is there any point even making a V8 or v6 anymore.

What about a 2.0 V8 - do they exist? Will they ever exist?

What is the case for large capacity V engines then - should they stay or are you glad to see them go?

IIRC the smallest production V8 was in the Daimler SP250 = 2500cc

Wrong .V( Just checked it was a 2 litre in a Ferrari 208GT4 should have checked before posting .

A bike with a V8- wow!

It will certainly be interesting to see where engine technology goes. Especially as the sale of new combustion engines are being outlawed in the UK by 2032!

When you can get the power from a smaller lighter unit it doesn't make much sense, but to be realistic, NOTHING WILL EVER SOUND AS GOOD AS A V8!
