Are ram air intake kits worth the money

What are your thoughts on these RAM air intakes?

They are meant to scoop up more air from the front of the car, does this really work and are they worth the money?
 
Not unless you are travelling at 100mph, the car will be going slower than most intakes suck air in so any gains are minimal and most ram scoops are more liable to suck in water and other nasties to the engine, at the very least clogging up the filter.
