When you see or hear a race or rally car popping and banging and shooting flames out of the exhaust when decelerating it is the AL system working when the EMS / COMPUTER delays ignition and or adds more fuel that ignites mostly in the exhaust manifold to keep the exhaust turbine spinning and still producing positive boost pressure when braking or slowing down so that when the driver gets on the throttle again there is immediate response to his/her inputs and no waiting for the turbine to spin/spool up to produce it's maximum pressure.

This system is extremely hard on turbos and not recommended for street driven vehicles and will attract unwanted police attention and should be switched off on public roads.

We also covered this back in the day :) Thankfully it's not caught on with road cars yet although I've seen a few Mitsubishi Evo's using this.

200+ views so I guess that a tread revival helps those who don't search for all the info already there on the site ;)
