Hello:

I´m new to the forum and I would like to know which are your thoughts about going from 144 hp to 177 hp using fast road cams, ported head, bigger valves, throttle body, exhaust system, and increasing compression 10.3 vs 11.5. do you have any suggestions?

How much will that 33 HP boost cost you? Is this a fun project (in which case expense is less important) or are you looking to cheaply make your current car better?

I want to modify it because I would like a little more power, about the cost well these days almost nothing is cheap but its a very good point to think about it. In Mexico City we have high altitude (2200+ meters) over sea level, for turbo engines there´s no problem but naturaly aspirated engines the power loss is bigger.

Getting the mapping spot on is critical for these mods. However I don't think you'll hit your power target unless you are also reboring the engine to a larger size. Peak power is not all that important it is having a wide power band that counts, so don't focus too much on the headline peak power figure.

You also have to be careful with porting and camshaft upgrades, the more aggressive the cam profile the more important it is to get the flow profile right. A 3 or 5 angle valve job will help but I implore you to use a specialist that knows what he's doing on these engines.
