Alfa Romeo GTA-R

LHD - Upgraded and Tuned By Alfaholics - The Alfa Romeo Giulia 105 series is a stunningly beautiful car, introduced in 1962 to replace the 101 series range of compact saloon and performance cars. It featured bodywork designed by Bertone - this car was also colloquially known as a Bertone Coupe. In the 1960s, Alfa Romeo had a strong presence in motorsport and the idea was to develop a car that could be used for competition purposes, as well as road use. The GTAs were produced for racing purposes and named as such because the "A" stood for Alleggerita, which is Italian for lightweight. The car featured aluminium body panels as opposed to steel, which saved weight and enabled better performance on the track. Magnesium alloy wheels and a lightweight interior trim were also fitted, again in a bid to make the car as lightweight as possible. The transmission gear ratios were closer than standard and the gears were machined for lightness and quicker shifting. Upgraded 45mm carburettors were also fitted, in place of the standard 40mm ones. This car is an Alfa Romeo Giulia 105 Series GT, which has been upgraded to GTA-R (Gran Turismo Alleggerita) spec by Alfaholics. It is finished Blue, with a Red leather interior. Being GTA spec, the car has a full GTA aluminium body conversion, an Alfaholics air-conditioning system, Hydraulic Power Steering conversion, Full leather and Alcantara interior with Wilton Wool Carpets. Also fitted is a concealed modern Sony bluetooth stereo system, with a dash mounted 1960s Motorola head unit interface. Under the lightweight Carbon Fibre bonnet is an Alfaholics Big Valve Monza Twinspark engine running on 45mm Webers with 3-D mapped ignition. There is also an Alfaholics gearbox, Alfaholics competition Limited Slip Differential axle, Alfaholics fast road/trackday suspension package, Alfaholics aluminium adjustable dampers with 2 1/4″ spring conversion, Alfaholics aluminium race T bar, Alfaholics lightweight suspension member and titanium suspension bolt package, Alfaholics 6-pot front brakes, billet aluminium rear calipers, Carbon Boot, Titanium wheel nuts and an Alfaholics billet aluminium pedal box conversion. Most recently this year, it has benefitted from a full engine rebuild carried out by Alfaholics with no expense spared. Today this exceptional example is UK registered and "on the button" following its most recent work. It is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately with viewings available at our showrooms based just outside London.
