advice removing golf mk3 steering wheel

hi all,

i need to remove my steering wheel to change my dials,the haynes manual says i have to replace my airbag retaining screws with new ones but a friend says its just haynes being overly cautious and you can reuse the old ones 2-3 times and its ok.

as i only plan to remove the wheel once do you guys think its ok to reuse the screws or replace??

any advice or tips would be welcome​

Hi Lazyguns and welcome to TorqueCars. You should be ok with the old screws but if they are really tight you would be better using new with new threads. Hope you post up some pics of the new dials when its done

the screws should be alright as long as you dont damage the heads of them
if they are you shouldnt be paying more than a couple of pounds for them
