Hey,

I haven't been around in a while but I return with a car problem. It happened a few times earlier today, I shift into 4th (sometimes 2nd) and when I put my foot down, SOMETIMES it will take a while to kick in and its pretty wierd. Im pushing the gas and the car just seems to to lag, and then speeds up. Ive had the car for 3 months now and Ive never had that problem or anything similar until today.

Thanks,

Pixel.

Hi Pixel, Welcome back. I guess you've been to busy enjoying the car! I agree with what HDI said they are very complex engines and that can be a symptom of so many problems.

def sounds like a engine fault. the ecu may put the car into "limp" state, usually a limited preformance mode, to keep it going so you can get to a garage

Sometimes these things are very simple after computer diagnosis. A couple of years ago mine put up a fault light and message on the dashboard display saying 'Anti-pollution fault'. At the same time the cruise control stopped functioning.

Result - brake pedal micro-switch had failed. (there are two, one for the stop lights, the other to disengage cruise as soon as you brake.)

Cost to fix - 1 switch - £12 and ten minutes labour by my local Pug performance specialist. Fault light out and cruise control fully working again.

Hey. I have the same problem, and i've had my car for about the same length of time.

Thing is, as far as i know there aren't any warning lights on the dash, and my car is a phase 1 106 xn. It's only a 1.1.

doesn't do it very often mind.

On a completely different note, one of the wires has come off the rear window heater at the back. I tried soldering it back on but it wouldn't make the solder hot enough because it too big a surface area to solder.

any suggestions of what i could do, becuase it's getting cold im struggling to see out of the back window.

cheers

go to a breakers and see if you can can get a back window so the all you need to do is connect the connection block up

trying to solder glass doesnt sound like a good idea to me as the heat may crack the glass . if its one on the wires that go to the conneting block get a terminal block and connect the wires using this and another short lengh of wire

I'm sure there is a 'conductive putty substance' you can use. I'm guessing the wire to the rear heater is disconnected rather than the whole rear heater is coming away. You can get a glass glue which is use for fixing mirrors. There is also a silver pen which you can get which allows you to draw over breaks in the heater wires and will make an electrical connection.

You might be able to use a small blob of solder and the crimping block to repair the connection.
