a4 1.8t temperature sensor

hi all
can any one advice me got a problem with temperature gauge not working are going to replace temperature sensor as these seem to fail ,would the tempretature sensor not working have an affect on the running of the car .

you might find it drinks a little more juice as it still thinks the enignes cold but shouldnt do any long term damage as long as you get it sorted quickly.

10 min job to do and a little coolant, or just water if your quick at getting the new one in
