A3 1.8t or S3??

Hey, relatively new to this site, Im currently driving a renault clio, But im thinking of buying an Audi. im looking at A3 1.8t & S3's but i would like some advice on which one is best to go for regarding tuning potential & peformance.
Any feedback would be much appreciated, cheers

The engines are very similar, if not identical. I know that the A3 will have either a KO3 or KO3s turbo and the S3 will have the KO4. It will probably have bigger injectors and things too.

Most tuning routes for a 1.8T A3 go through the S3 stage (adding the KO4) so the choice is whether you want to start from the ground or already have a higher platform to work from.

by and A3 and spend close to a grand on it and youll have about the same performace as a standard s3. youll looking at another couple of grand to get to a remapped s3
