A limit to engine size?

I've been pondering something. In Europe we have 6L V12 Aston Martins, 4.7L V8 Koenigseggs and 6.5L V12 Lambos... but in america they have these big 8L, 9L, and sometimes 10L+ V8 stroker engines.

Why don't we have them over here? I know they're primitive as hell and they chew up the fuel and they're brash... but why hasn't a european company taken them off the americans and modified one of these huge monsters to be as powerful and precise as the smaller european engines we have over here?

There must be a reason, what is it?

well i think its all down to size of the countrys and how its layed out

say the states you dont walk anywere as things are just so far away and you dont think about driving 200 miles to get somewere and then its all 60mph

were here everything is close together and you can walk to most places and there is so much traffic on are little roads its stop and start all the time witch kills the v8's on mpg

in the states the big v8s are good for siting at 60-70 for a long time and you get good mpg infact i would say the same mpg then a little car that has to rev higher

and plus they can lol
