Is this a good thing? Scrapping a proposed increase doesn't to my mind actually help the hard pressed ripped off motorist.

I'd like to see a REDUCTION in fuel duty as a measure of goodwill and i'm sure this will help the economy as people start to go out more and spend more money on the little luxuries of life again?

What are your thoughts on all this?

I too would like to see a reduction for a while, pointless imo about scrapping the price hike as you know it's coming back and sooner than you think, plus it will probably be increased yet again to catch up with the lost revenue during the time it was shelved. A reduction and I don't just mean a token gesture by the chancellor would do much to help those struggling with fuel costs who really need their car/van.
