Helloooo,
Would like some advice from you car geeks please.
I took my 307 1.4 ( 2007 reg)petrol in for a service and mot last week, after some basic repairs it passed it's mot.
I was then told there is an oil leak from the head gasket which needs to be fixed. Then the ££ came.
As they obviously gathered I know nothing about cars, I am not sure whether they are being totally honest. Is there a common problem with this in 307 petrol engines? There is no visible leak from underneath the car and it runs fine at the moment. I have been advised by an independent peugeot specialist that a lot of these engines leak a bit of oil but may not necessarily be a big problem.. He advised to keep checking my oil levels regularly and if going down quickly then to take it in.
I am not sure what to do now, I don't want to leave it and potentially run into more costs or problems but I also don't want spend mega amount of money if it is not necessary...
Please can I have some sensible and easy to understand advice?? Thanks very muchly!
