does any one know if is it true that the vtec engine can be tuned from its standard bhp of 110 to 160 by upgrading the ECU and changing vtec settings? if so can anyone give me information on how to go about this?
thanks

nope. theres a lot of differences between the 110 and 160 bhp engines. mapping the ECU if its possible - dont think it might be with honda - and you might see 120 on an aggressive map

welcome to the site as well

thanks for the feedback, im new to tuning. what other ways is there of increasing bhp without swapping the engine?

prince is the man to ask when it comes to the hondas.
the single cam versions are easier to boost through turbo/supercharging due to the lower compression
also think you might be able to fit the DOHC head on but not sure

basics good intake and full exhaust - including the manifold and cat. will help the engine breathe better. longer duration cam to keep the valves open longer are good starting points

then you can look towards if your wanting to keep it nasp or FI
