can anyone help the car wont rev past 5000rpm runs fine apart from that doing ma tits in lol is there a commom falt im not seeing someone said i should check the timing cheers in advance for the help

What happens at 5000rpm, does it bump the rev limiter and splutter or does it just refuse to get there?
When was it last serviced? Has it always done this?
